Welcome to YVR Green Coats

Canada’s second busiest airport, Vancouver International Airport welcomed 16.8 million people in 2010, facilitated more than 293,000 aircraft take-offs and landings on our runways and handled 228,400 tons of cargo. Our Green Coat Volunteers enjoy being a part of the excitement at YVR.

The Vancouver Airport Authority has been honored to be served by our Green Coat Volunteer ambassadors since 1989. Green Coat Volunteers can be found throughout the terminal and make an enormous difference to the overall airport experience by providing information on the facilities, retail and services available at YVR, as well as directional assistance to our guests and the traveling public.

As well, our team of volunteers enjoys making new friends, attending social events, learning new skills, and being a vital part of the community at YVR.

“I had my first shift today which I enjoyed thoroughly. Several of the Friday morning regulars made a point of coming up to my Canada Line station to welcome me. It was a nice touch and confirmed to me that this is a classy and thoughtful organization that cares for and treats well it’s members. Thank you. I continue to be delighted to be a Green Coat.”
